The Certificate program is
designed to provide an introduction to
clinical and translational research.
Qualified applicants
include:
-
fellows and junior
faculty interested in collaborating in
research, or fellows/junior faculty just
launching their career as
clinical/translational researchers
-
health science students
in the Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy,
Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences
-
basic science researchers
crossing over into clinical translation
-
residents
-
post-doctoral fellows
-
health science professionals
The Certificate program
consists of 14 credit hours, most of which
can be completed during an 8-week summer
session.
Required courses:

Introduction to
Epidemiology (Summer or Winter quarter, 3
credits)

Introduction to
Biostatistics (Summer or Fall quarter, 4
credits)
-
Ethics in Research
(Summer or Winter quarter; 1 credit)

One or two of the
following electives:

Study Design and Analysis
(Winter quarter, 3 credits)

Principles of
Clinical Trials (Fall quarter, 3
credits)

Molecular Epidemiology
(Spring quarter, 3 credits)

Introduction to SAS Programming (Summer,
Fall quarter, 2 credits)

Regression Analysis
(Winter quarter, 4 credits)

Biostatistics in Research (Winter quarter, 3
credits)

Mentored Research (any
quarter, up to 3 credits)
